Don’t get po’d at your boyfriend or girlfriend….until you read this.

When I was at the University of Colorado Boulder I was studying Psychology (before I switched to Advertising at UT Austin).  My professor staged a test in which an unknown individual entered the classroom, grabbed the teacher’s briefcase and ran out.  The students were asked to describe the culprit and we ended up with as many descriptions as students.  The point being that what we thought we saw wasn’t necessarily what happened.

When we see…..we are exposed to a scene or an image….and in order to make sense of it, our brain retrieves stored images from our memory to try to categorize or match up what we’ve seen with what we have in storage (or in our memory).  At best we are simulating a picture based on our own memories or our own “frames of reference”.

FRAME OF REFERENCE is really important because it’s a critical aspect of getting along with others and enjoying your life.  Your frame of reference is made up of everything you know – all your memories, the way you have experienced things, the way your parents and associates taught you to communicate, the things you and your loved ones say to each other….essentially your frame of reference is the lens through which you see the world.  The reason it is important is because it colors your reality.

Years ago I was dating a guy from Venezuela…..one day IN A TOTALLY joking way I said to him “Fuck You”.  He freaked out and said to me “In my family if someone says “fuck you” that’s it…that’s the end of the relationship.  It’s all over.”  I told him that on the contrary, in my family, it didn’t mean that….it just was a way of jibing someone or yanking their chain and when said in my family – without explanation – the people hearing it would know NOT to freak out.  They’d know what I meant because they know me.  They’d know at the very least that if I said that to them, it could only mean one of two things:

1) it could mean that I’m seriously mad and hurling a really awful insult at them or

2) it could mean that I’m joking and that i’m expressing my light hearted dissatisfaction to whatever it is they just did or said.

This is important…..since the person i’m speaking to knows me – they don’t have to ask me what I mean.  They already know what I mean because they know me and they grew up in the same environment as I did and they use that phrase in the same way.  So no one gets pissed off…..they just know that they know that I didn’t mean anything particularly bad by it.  It’s important when you are interacting with other people that you try to see things from their perspective because you might just discover that not everyone else in the world is exactly like you.  And that is fine – that’s great in fact.  God forbid we’d all be exactly the same, right?

So back to the Venezuelan guy, in an effort to diffuse the rapidly escalating vibe in the room I asked him – “what’s more important when I say something” a) what you thought I meant by it or b) what I really meant by it?

Of course it’s more important what I say that I meant by it and IF I TELL YOU THAT I DIDN’T MEAN ANYTHING NEGATIVE BY SAYING IT THEN YOU, if you’re my friend and you love and know me, are duty bound to accept that.  If not your essentially calling me a liar and if that’s what you think – why are you my friend in the first place?

This is only important because we all see the world from our own perspectives….and so we judge what we see and what other people say by what we would say in those same situations.  But that’s a mistake.  Of course we have to refer to our own frame of reference to understand anything in the world, but to prevent huge arguments & misunderstandings, don’t stop there.  Ask yourself if this person’s background is identical to yours and if it’s not then be a little more flexible about how you interpret the world.  You’ll get along wit people much better that way and perhaps you’ll find a new way to look at the world?

OK so the point of all that is that we have to be careful not to cram our frame of reference, or what we’d do in a given situation, down someone else’s throat.  This is especially important in a relationship.  If your lover tells you they meant x instead of y, then you have to believe them because who knows better than the person who said it in the first place?

Dream a new dream…

Dream a new dream…
800px-Lincoln_Memorial_I_Have_a_Dream_Marker_2413Getting started….taking the first step…..staring at a blank page…..this is the hardest part of starting anything new.  Those of us who have been on the planet a few years may WANT to go from being frozen to forward motion – but how do we do that?  I’ve written before about the need to do something dramatic to get yourself out of a rut.  So if you find yourself wondering what happened to the last 6 months and fretting over why nothing has yet happened, don’t feel bad because you’re not alone.

To start something new or to gain some forward momentum in your life it’s important to first think of something you’d like to do.  If you’re anything like me, you got caught up in work and family and life in general, and you can’t even remember what your dreams were when you were young.  No time to fret over that……just look forward.  So step one in a new life is to dream a new dream – think of something new you’d like to do no matter how weird it sounds for a 95 year old to start medical school or an overweight middle aged housewife to begin ballet classes.   WHO CARES?  I mean really – do you really care what anyone else thinks?  And quite frankly in my book if someone else thinks you can’t do it- all the more reason TO DO IT.  Use that negativity as a motivating force to get you moving towards your dream.

So step one – dream a new dream.  Make a list of all the things you have ever wanted to do and throw in a few things you just realized you want to do.  Then review and refine the list by crossing off the things you’re less than enthused about and settle on one or two things that you want to accomplish.  Perhaps you want to learn a new language or improve on an old one?  Maybe your goal is to lose weight or become comfortable in your own skin (whatever weight that might be).  Or maybe you have always wanted to write a book?  If  so start off with a blog – you can write whatever you want (apparently, ha) and there’s no one to stop you or tell you you’re not good at it. Your dream can and should be anything you want it to be and it doesn’t matter if it seems absurd.  Just give yourself permission to dream or to do whatever you want to do.  The point is to just dream a new dream and get started on your new life.  That’s the first step in the sequence of many steps that will make up your future.

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer.  Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”  Harriet Tubman

Vaccine Concerns

Should we have asked questions about COVID-19 Vaccination?

I told my friends, family & acquaintances about 100 times each that they should get the C0vid Vaccine if they feel comfortable with it.  However, I had also asked questions about the vaccine and been censured, ridiculed, and treated like an insane person just because I asked a question or two. You have to admit that asking questions, due to the growing number of post-vaccine reports, shouldn’t be a reason for a person to be locked up and have the key thrown away, should it?  I really just want to feel good about it (for myself and my loved ones) and not have to worry about the chemicals I’m putting into my body. I really think that there’s nothing wrong with asking a few questions about it and that it would be way more worrisome if a person just blindly accepted the vaccine without even asking anything about it.  So I’ve compiled a few articles from a large variety of authors that represent a number of different perspectives (including Conservatives & Liberals, Allopathic and Homeopathic/Naturopathic physicians, Americans, and Europeans, etc.). AGAIN I have no idea how many times I have to say this or have said this but I am not saying you should or shouldn’t have gotten the COVID vaccines – I am just saying please stop shoving pre-approved data from the CDC and NIH down our throats and let us hear and read about a few other perspectives.  If your vaccine was so safe then why wouldn’t you have wanted us to read any other perspectives?  That is what started the COVID hesitancy in the first place.

Hard Choices….

A Letter from Geert Wilders, a Member of the Dutch Parliament.

In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: “Who lost Europe ?” Here is the speech of Geert Wilders, Chairman, Party for Freedom the Netherlands , at the Four Seasons in New York , introducing an Alliance of Patriots and announcing the Facing Jihad Conference in Jerusalem .

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission.  All is not well in the old world.  There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic.  We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe.  This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West.  The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.

First, I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe …  Then, I will say a few things about Islam.  To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem ..

The Europe you know is changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks.  But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world.  It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen.  And if they are, they might regret it.  This goes for the police as well.  It’s the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners.  The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe .. These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe .  With larger congregations than there are in churches.  And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region.  Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden ..  In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim.   Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils.  In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims.  Non-Muslim women routinely hear ‘whore, whore’.  Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin .  The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.

In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves.  Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II.  French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya , Israel ..  I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering  25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now.  Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers.  And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate.  But there are few signs of that.  The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France .  One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call ‘respect’.  And this is how we give them respect.  We have Muslim official state holidays.

The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority.  We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey .

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example, against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots.   Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus.  I call the perpetrators ‘settlers’,  because that is what they are.  They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam.  Therefore, they are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities, their countries.  Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.

The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet.  His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized.  Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem.  But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages – at the same time.  Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed.  Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza.  If it is good for Islam, it is good.  If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion.  Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins.  But in its essence Islam is a political ideology.  It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person.  Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life.  Islam means ‘submission’.  Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia.  If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam ‘the most retrograde force in the world’, and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran.  The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor.  I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times.  I support Israel , first, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz , second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam’s territorial advance.   Israel is facing the front lines of Jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines , Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan , Lebanon , and Aceh in Indonesia .   Israel is simply in the way, the same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel .  It is a war against the West.  It is Jihad.   Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us.  If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest.  Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities.  But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West ..  It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values.  On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam.  They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed.  The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning.  It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination.  If they can get Israel , they can get everything.  So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a ‘right-wing extremists’ or ‘racists’.  In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II.  And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat.  Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing.  The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine.  An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America – as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs.  With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem …..

Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts.  My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives.  All throughout Europe , American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish.  My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians.  We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe ‘s children in the same state in which it was offered to us.  We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams.  Future generations would never forgive us.  We cannot squander our liberties.  We simply do not have the right to do so.

We have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from destroying the free world that we know.

Please take the time to read and understand what is written here, Please send it to every free person that you know, it is so very important.

Life after death or just wishful thinking?

Life after death or just wishful thinking?

There has been an ongoing debate between the scientific & spiritual worlds about when life ends and if there is an afterlife or not. Scientists of all types often explain what’s happening to people who report they’ve experienced an NDE (or Near Death Experience) by saying it’s a “temporal lobe seizure” or the brains desperate last attempt to hang on to life which results in elaborate hallucinations of the after life. But to those who have had an NDE, who are frequently able to describe events that occurred AFTER they were pronounced dead, claim that life after death is real and more real than life on earth.  Listen to what a few of these people say about what has happened to them and think about it.

Can we even eat clean?

Giving Credit where credit is due!!

As more evidence on the dangers of ingesting glyphosate as well as other herbicides and pesticides have come to light, it has become globally clear that the use of these chemicals needs to be reduced significantly. It is important to document the mounting evidence that these herbicides, pesticides and insecticides are damaging adults and children in all sorts of ways. It is only by bringing awareness of these issues that can we change minds, habits and attitudes.

For instance, glyphosate has been shown to affect neurological development of neonates and children, cause obesity and metabolism issues, muscular issues, and cause cancer – including colorectal cancer, as well as increase the incidence of fatty liver disease. These chemicals, particularly glyphosate, also change the gut biome which can significantly impact health.

By now, everyone should be trying to eat organic, and/or grow their own food stuffs and try to eat meat that has not been not fed commercial (non-organic) grains. Pasture raised and grass-fed are best – particularly if they are raised on organic pasture.

These chemicals enter our bodies through the foods we consume: including grains and legumes that are sprayed with desiccants, fruit trees sprayed to control insects, and sprayed on vegetables for weed and pest control. However, the bigger issue may be that these chemicals are getting into our water supply. Studies show that once glyphosate gets into a water source, it becomes stable and does not degrade easily. As a result, glyphosate can enter surface and subsurface water through multiple routes.

  • glyphosate blown into bodies of water adjacent to fields being sprayed

  • Irrigation runoff from crops into ground water, creeks, rivers, streams and lakes.

This is true for a myriad of herbicides, pesticides and insecticides.

This is going to affect not only municipal water sources, but also well water. Particularly those wells that are more shallow.

There are cheap and inexpensive ways to test for chemical contamination in water. Certified laboratory water testing for glyphosate, atrazine, PCBs and pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides, etc are readily available online. While you are at it, consider also testing for microplastic contamination. I urge everyone to collect a sample of your drinking water and send it in for analysis.

If your sample tests positive, there are many ways to remove contaminants from your water supply. Do a little research and please invest in a good systemic approach.

Below is a quick literature review of the most current findings. Frankly, this feels a bit like groundhog day – as I have written about this before. But we all need to think before we buy, before we put things in our and our children’s mouths. Our longevity may very well depend upon it.

A new paper exposes that urinary glyphosate levels and hand grip strength have an inverse relationship. Ergo the more glyphosate in one’s system, the weaker hand grip strength is.

Of note, the title and abstract of the paper below misses one of the most important facts found in the data of this paper. Buried deep in the results section, this little truth bomb lays in wait:

Within this study, a remarkable 80.2% of the participants were identified as having measurable levels of glyphosate, with a mean concentration of 0.40??g/L

Yep, within the US population. – over 80% of urine samples had traces of glyphosate.

But it goes on.

Glyphosate has a reported half-life of elimination of 5.5–10?h (35), the high detection rate implies that there are unknown and unavoidable sources of exposure to glyphosate during daily activities, which have not been evaluated by any global regulatory agency.

Basically, people are being exposed daily to this toxin and “wherever” it is coming from, these sources of glyphosate are not being evaluated by global agencies.

Just to write it – we know where “it” is coming from. “It” is being sprayed as an herbicide and it is being used on a massive scale as a desiccant on our grains.

Here is the paper:

Association between urinary glyphosate levels and hand grip strength in a representative sample of US adults: NHANES 2013-2014

Front Public Health. 2024 Feb 21:12:1352570., doi: 10.3389/fpubh.2024.1352570. 2024.

Abstract

Introduction: Glyphosate, a widely utilized herbicide globally, has been linked to various health issues, including cancer, birth abnormalities, and reproductive issues. Additionally, there is growing experimental support indicating potential harm to skeletal muscles. Despite this, the impact of glyphosate on human muscle health remains unclear.

Methods: We examined information gathered from the 2013-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which included 1466 adults aged 18 or older. Our primary aim was to investigate the relationship between glyphosate exposure and hand grip strength, as well as its influence on lean muscle mass.

Results and discussion: Our investigation uncovered a detrimental correlation between glyphosate exposure and all measures of grip strength, except for the second test of the first hand.

Specifically, we observed a statistically significant adverse association between glyphosate exposure and combined grip strength, which is calculated as the sum of the highest readings from both hands (ß coefficient of -2.000, S.E. = 0.891, p = 0.040).

We did not observe a significant correlation between glyphosate levels, lean muscle mass, and the likelihood of reaching maximum grip strength meeting sarcopenia criteria.

Additionally, we observed an interaction between age and glyphosate, as well as between body mass index (BMI) and glyphosate, concerning the association with combined grip strength. In this comprehensive analysis of NHANES data, our study reveals a potential association between glyphosate exposure and hand grip strength in the adult population. Our findings suggest the need for deeper exploration into the health effects of glyphosate exposure and its impact on muscle strength, shedding light on possible public health concerns. (RWM – yah think?)

Non-alcoholic Fatty liver disease is where fat builds up in the liver. There are more than three million cases in the USA per year and it is linked to decreased life expectancy.

Below is paper showing an association with pesticides/herbicides and severity of fatty liver disease.

FYI – one of the chemical discussed below is chlorpyrifos, which is an insecticide sprayed on crops worldwide, and which is found in Raid and other such products. Paraquat is a weed killer.

Association of urinary chlorpyrifos, paraquat, and cyproconazole levels with the severity of fatty liver based on MRI

BMC Public Health 2024 Mar 14;24(1):807. doi: 10.1186/s12889-024-18129-1.

Abstract

Background: The objective of this study was to detect the urinary levels of chlorpyrifos, paraquat, and cyproconazole in residents living in Fuyang City and to analyze the correlation between these urinary pesticides levels and the severity of fatty liver disease (FLD).

Methods: All participants’ fat fraction (FF) values were recorded by MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging). First-morning urine samples were collected from 53 participants from Fuyang Peoples’Hospital. The levels of three urinary pesticides were measured using ?-glucuronidase hydrolysis followed by a. The results were analyzed by using Pearson correlation analysis and binary logistic regression analysis to reveal the correlation between three urinary pesticides and the severity of fatty liver.

Results: 53 individuals were divided into 3 groups based on the results from MRI, with 20 cases in the normal control group, 16 cases in the mild fatty liver group, and 17 cases in the moderate and severe fatty liver group. Urinary chlorpyrifos level was increased along with the increase of the severity of fatty liver. Urinary paraquat level was significantly higher both in the low-grade fatty liver group and moderate & serve grade fatty liver group compared with the control group. No significant differences in urinary cyproconazole levels were observed among the three groups. Furthermore, urinary chlorpyrifos and paraquat levels were positively correlated with FF value. And chlorpyrifos was the risk factor that may be involved in the development of FLD and Receiver Operating Characteristic curve (ROC curve) analysis showed that chlorpyrifos and paraquat may serve as potential predictors of FLD.

Conclusion: The present findings indicate urinary chlorpyrifos (RWM -an insecticide sprayed on crops and found in Raid and other such products) and paraquat (weed killer) were positively correlated with the severity of fatty liver. Moreover, urinary chlorpyrifos and paraquat have the potential to be considered as the predictors for development of FLD. Thus, this study may provide a new perspective from the environmental factors for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of FLD.

It isn’t really a surprise that more exposure to pesticides increases the risk of colorectal cancer significantly…

Exposure to pesticides and risk of colorectal cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Environ Pollut 2024 Mar 15:345:123530. doi: 10.1016/j.envpol.2024.123530. Epub 2024 Feb 8.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a widespread malignancy worldwide, and its relationship with pesticide exposure remains inconclusive. This study aims to elucidate the relationship between pesticide exposure and the risk of colon, rectal, or CRC, focusing on specific pesticide groups. We conducted an extensive literature search for peer-reviewed studies published up to March 31, 2023.

Summary risk ratios (RR) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using stratified random-effects meta-analyses, taking into account different types of exposure and outcomes, and various exposed populations and pesticide subgroups. This approach aimed to address the substantial heterogeneity observed across the literature. We also assessed heterogeneity and potential small-study effects to ensure the robustness of our findings.

From the 50 studies included in this review, 33 contributed to the meta-analysis. Our results indicate a significant association between herbicide exposure and colon cancer in both lifetime-days (LDs) (RR = 1.20; 95% CI = 1.01-1.42) and intensity-weighted lifetime-days (IWLDs) (RR = 1.29, 95% CI = 1.12-1.49) exposure.

Similarly, insecticide exposure was associated with an increased risk of colon cancer in IWLDs (RR = 1.32; 95% CI = 1.02-1.70) exposure, and rectal cancer in any versus never exposure (RR = 1.21; 95% CI = 1.07-1.36), IDs (RR = 1.86; 95% CI = 1.30-2.67) and IWLDs (RR = 1.70; 95% CI = 1.03-2.83) exposure.

While these findings suggest significant associations of herbicide and insecticide exposure with colon and rectal cancer, respectively, further research is needed to explore the impact of other pesticide groups and deepen our understanding of pesticide exposure. These results have important implications for policymakers and regulators, underscoring the need for stricter supervision and regulation of pesticide use to mitigate CRC risk.

Impact of glyphosate-based herbicide exposure through maternal milk on offspring’s antioxidant status, neurodevelopment, and behavior

Naunyn Schmiedebergs Arch Pharmacol 2024 Mar 11. doi: 10.1007/s00210-024-03035-5. Online ahead of print.

Abstract

Glyphosate-based Herbicide (GBH) is a widely used pesticide that functions as a broad-spectrum, non-selective herbicide. Despite advanced research to describe the neurotoxic potential of GBH, the harmful effects on maternal behavior and neurodevelopment of offspring remain unclear. This study was conducted to highlight the effects of GBH on the antioxidant system, anxiety traits, social interaction, and cognitive and sensorimotor functions in pups exposed to 25 or 50 mg/l daily via their mother’s milk.
Concerning the biochemical biomarkers, GBH administered during the early stages of development negatively affected the status of antioxidant enzymes and lipid peroxidation in the brain structures of the pups. Furthermore, our results showed a significant decrease in acetylcholinesterase (AChE) specific activity within the brains of treated pups.

The results of the behavioral tests indicated that the treated offspring developed anxiety, memory, and sociability disorders, as evidenced by the Open Field, Y-maze, object recognition task, and social interaction tests. Through neurodevelopmental testing, we also showed sensorimotor impairment (righting reflex and negative geotaxis) and abnormal maternal behavior. Altogether, our study clearly demonstrates that the developing brain is sensitive to GBH.

We can not rely on our government to keep us safe. We have to suspect our food and water is not safe, unless it has been verified.

It isn’t that hard to eat clean and drink clean. We just have to be aware of the issues, take precautions and invest in the resources to do so.

It is important. For your health, your significant other(s), and for the health of our children.

Wondering if you can trust Pfizer?

How can we save the world?

A few weeks ago, the E.U. decided to give Glyphosate another ten-year round to destroy Earth’s delicate ecosystems further.

Or what’s left to destroy.

Hurai, another win for Bayer/Monsanto, the anti-earth lobby AKA extraction capitalism at the cost of all of us.

Am I exaggerating? Not really.

This writing is not going to be playing the victim on the ongoing perverse incentive show of crony capitalism. I left this stage behind some time ago.

It’s too late to cry wolve.

We’re getting ugly close to the vision of one of Northern America’s wisest Indian leaders: the White man won’t stop until he realises he can’t eat money. Or, the brainwashed mob will wake up when they’re with their backs against the wall.

Will it be too late, then? Will we experience our 6th extinction event? Or will we magically transform and show an unheard-of eco-resilience and sudden collective spiritual awakening?

I guess we’ll find out in the coming decades. We have 60 harvests left.

Here’s new information from expert Zach Busch on the effects of Round-Up and why it’s not too late when we change one single thing.

This is how you can help.

Why Zach Busch remains positive

Zach Busch MD. researched the effects of Round-Up for decades and has proven the relationship with multiple diseases like cancer and auto-immune. This follows his groundbreaking research on the relationship between our soil and our gut. He also supports countless farmers on the ground with his farmersfootprint program.

As Zach Busch explains in one of his recent podcasts, there is no atom out of place on this planet. Everything is utterly perfect in the grand scheme of things. It’s all a perfect mirror for us to learn. For me, it hurts to witness humanity’s blunt neglect, its massive blind spot when it comes to embracing nature instead of killing and exploiting it in the name of holy profit.

In light of the ongoing Glysophate menace, the podcast host asks Zach how to protect ourselves against a poison that has deleted 4 of humanity’s 22 primary amino acids. ( Those are the building blocks of our pool of life).

It’s taking four nouns out of the Alphabet. The result is a worldwide health mis-spelling. Zach logically deducts the answer from his knowledge, on-the-ground experience and expertise:

We can’t. It’s too late. The poison is everywhere.

It has been sprayed consistently for the last 40 years. It’s in every single one of us, in our soil, rainwater and air. According to FarmerFootprint.US, It’s in 95% of our beer and wine, in 80–90% of popular wheat-based products, and even in tampons, breast milk and in 33% of our honey.

Europe just pushed us closer to the edge of full eco-collapse. The U.S is not even considering to ban Round-Up.

Still, there’s hope. Let’s first see what science is saying.

What does the science say?

Monsanto’s paid market scientist will claim that there is no threat proven, that no relation can be made to the increase of cancer in, let’s say, Louisiana, where the Mississippi is at its broadest. In this clip, Zach explains that when you merge cancer heat maps with Round-Up heat maps in connection to the Mississippi, the unbiased eye can see an undeniable truth: a considerable correlation.

It’s not where you spray where you should look. It’s where it accumulates in river systems.

The Mississippi River has been the catch-all for 80/85% of all glysophate sprayed in the U.S — Collected in a single water system. The shocking fact is that cancer heat maps have been the highest in the world here, up to the Gulf of Mexico. According to Zach, this is no coincidence. Others claimed it was bad socio-economic circumstances—high poverty. But no, it’s the Round-Up correlation.

You can apply this anywhere in the world.

Glyphosate, Chronic Illnesses and the End of the World

The beginning of the end began in 1976 when Monsanto started their glysophate planet Earth destruction. Of course they all had good intentions at the time and as you can read in my earlier piece about Round-Up. People and farmers worldwide were prepared to use a solution that needed agriculture to scale. The problem was packed in a narrative, presented by the club of Rome. Overpopulation, not enough mouth to feed, etc. We needed a green revolution.

Of course, the solution was presented as being safe and effective. You might recognize these words by now whenever your trusted Government presents a solution to an (often created) problem that threatens public health.

Around that time, the slogan imagined by PR offices that needed to sell the narrative was that Round-Up was saver than water.

Decades later, when the truth surfaces and becomes undeniable, the effects of Glysophate are everything but ‘saver than water’. It has poisoned our water worldwide.

Following the heat maps, you see shocking correlations between high concentrations of Glysophate and a massive increase in autism, obesity, Parkinson’s, auto-immune diseases, diabetes, and finally, cancer. Another breathtaking statistic is around chronic disease in the U.S. It was around 4% of the whole U.S. population in the 60ies, growing to a stunning 46% of only children in 2019.

Lawyers are starting to win cases where the correlation of cancer of their clients is successfully attributed to Round-Up spraying. Monsanto/Bayer has 11.000 court cases waiting. And there is more damage. At this moment, one-third of U.S. males are infertile, according to sperm count research. How come? That’s another Round-Up effect, according to Zach.

We’ve probably already passed checkpoint Charlie when Al Gore made his movie An Inconvenient Truth in 2006. We’re beyond the point of save return. His next movie should be; Extinction Event 6.0, an unavoidable truth (coming to a city near you soon)

But is this true? Am I too fatalistic? What can we still do?

Move to Iceland? Party till we drop? Numb ourselves out to oblivion?

Would moving to Iceland help?

Does this mean we all need to move to Iceland?, the podcast host asks Zach next.

According to Zach, the highest concentrations of round-up combined with air pollution ( Carbon Dioxide) and chronic diseases like cancer and the like, are now present in Brazil and China. Emerging new economies that have seen accelerating growth in the past decades and didn’t care much about being green.

And no, it doesn’t help to move to Iceland.

Glyphosate is all around us, in our water, soil, air, and in us since all the world’s ecosystems are connected. Plants, animals, and humans comprise 70% water and glyphosate first spreads through water systems.

Interestingly enough, Russia is on its way to becoming truly organic much sooner than the West in 2025. When we look at its soil management, it has its grain grown more healthily, uses way less Round-Up, and, apart from Moscow, hasn’t lost itself in blind over-consumption. It also has the second most giant lungs of the world. Still, since all ecosystems are connected, it is suffering the same as we.

Moving to the Wolga or northern Siberia and buying a Datcha at one of the least polluted lakes in the world is a good thing to do.

But wait, we can’t since we’re at war with Russia. Putin is the bad guy. And now the whole country is evil. Boehhh.

To explain wars, follow the soil, not the oil

In the podcast, Zach gives a fascinating insight into why wars are waged and for what, in our present timeframe.

The attention has shifted from oil to soil.

Big players like BlackRock speculate on food markets and manipulate them. Billionaires like the Gates Foundation are buying up farmers’ land. Oil has played its role, it’s about soil now.

But why?

When you control the food chain, you control the people. First, you create the food crisis, you create more and more scarcity, and you invest in solutions like fake meat, crickets and patented soy shit.

To increase the food crisis, you start a war in Ukraine.

Are we going into a full-blown conspiracy now?

Wait, let’s hear what Zach has to say on the relationship between poisoned Round-Up soil and wars

Round Up concentrations and wars

Ukraine was Europe’s grain, corn and wheat barn and thus bread basket for a long time, together with Russia. Northern America lost its power as a grain and wheat supplier some time ago since its soil is producing the unhealthiest stuff in the world due to various circumstances. Like 700 times higher Glysophate concentrations found in soil and water samples in comparison to Europe. Levels that are deemed save !

Read that again.

700 x higher.

After these scientifically proven facts, economic behemoths like Japan and Germany banned grain from U.S.A. soil. They would instead buy relatively 700 X less poisoned grain and wheat from Ukraine and Russia.

What would you do?

Until the Russia — Ukraine war and the sequel movie ‘Cold War’ appeared in a propaganda outlet near you.

Behind the scenes, BlackRock and Vanguard rather see Economic superpowers like Japan and Germany depend on their food from the U.S than the enemy of the state NR 1; Russia. So the tables turned, the cards got reshuffled, and the Ukraine-Russia war has placed the U.S. back on the map regarding grain export. And modified new tech food.

This shows, again, that it’s all about the money, not your health, eating good food or that ideologically ‘standing for Ukraine’ would make any difference.

Behind the scenes, wars are created to make complete countries food-dependent on superpowers.

And new technologies. That brings even more cash.

The solution is obvious. Going back to being regenerative in a distributed local economy.

Other solutions — stop being a victim

After this short conspiracy interval, let’s come back to the solutions.

The most important thing is to avoid getting stuck in the victim-perpetrator dynamic. When we focus too much on what is wrong, and how our old school global capitalist anti-human moloch is destroying everything, including itself, we might find ourselves in a place of fatalism or nihilism, being frozen in the spotlights of a contracted victim mentality, just blaming themthe elites, or any power that be.

Remember, they play their divine part, part of our collective shadow, representing our massive blind spot. They push our old story of separation to the extreme. That nature is the enemy. For all of us to see. To wake up out of our slumber.

It is about you. What you can do.

What’s left for us do to do?

Zach ends his talk by asking to investigate where you feel one with nature or where you still believe you are separate and nature is against you.

It all starts there, and then we begin living from this new myth that there is no separation.

He urges us to see we need this new story more than new technological solutions. We must acknowledge that the human body is the best tech ever invented. We need to feel and place ourselves as part of nature.

We need to change the Oxford Dictionary since it defines nature as everything outside of what is human or what humans have created.

This shows we‘ve written ourselves out of nature. We started wars against ourselves, our soil, the mother, our lungs, the Amazon, our neighbour, water and our very own sacred source: nature.

Until we discovered we can’t eat money. As it seems, humanity has to find itself with its back against the wall for any deep change to occur.

Meanwhile, create more (bio-)diversity each day. Eat more diverse, create your own food, share, meet more people, see more colours around you, help more folks in need, and have a broader emotional range. Step out of the mono-culture that is promoted everywhere. Literally.

We must start with giving back and be genuinely regenerative.

Hold the impossible long enough for it to happen, starting in your personal life. No matter the scale or the impact you think your work has. Realize why you’re here in this critical beautiful timeframe of profound change. Remember your role.

It’s nothing less than miracles we need. Start with realising you are a miraculous being living in a magical world full of wisdom, healing and wonder.

Pain & Inflammation: NSAIDS or Narcotics?

Doctors have recommended nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen to relieve acute inflammation for decades. But does short-term relief—and interfering with the body’s natural healing process—come at the cost of chronic pain?

Pain from a minor injury, such as a sprained ankle or thrown-out back, often resolves on its own. But for some, acute pain lingers, becoming chronic.

“[The] standard medical care for this type of pain is probably making matters worse, is what the research suggests,” Jeffrey Mogil, a neuroscientist at McGill University, told The Epoch Times.

Early-Stage Inflammation Prevents Chronic Pain

Injuries trigger inflammation for a reason, and researchers are working to understand it better.

One study, published in Science Translational Medicine, focused on 98 lower back pain patients over a three-month period. During that time, half of the volunteers fully recovered, while the other half developed chronic lower back pain. Using RNA sequencing, the researchers compared the activity levels of immune cells between both groups.
They discovered that neutrophils, immune cells that feature prominently at the onset of the inflammation sequence, play a role in remaining pain-free. Neutrophils help the body to fight infection and repair tissue damage.

According to the researchers, those in the chronic pain group started with less inflammatory neutrophil activity and later had little to no activity in the cells that create inflammation. In contrast, the genes of the recovered patients were very active with inflammation-related cells.

“Neutrophils rush in pretty early after some sort of injury, causing a process that ends up preventing chronic pain,” said Mr. Mogil, a senior author of the paper, “and you probably shouldn’t block it.”

Scientists have known that anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit neutrophil activity in people and animals. However, the link to chronic pain had been missed because prior studies did not follow patients long enough beyond immediate pain reduction.

“NSAIDs definitely interfere with the process,” Eugene Aiello, a chiropractic physician and neurologic researcher, told The Epoch Times. “But not everybody in the chronic [pain] group was taking NSAIDs. More studies are needed to identify what else is preventing the neutrophils from completing the repair process.”

Recognizing Whether Inflammation Is Good or Bad

There are generally two types of inflammation: acute and chronic. To determine whether inflammation is helpful or not, we must understand how these differ.

Chronic inflammation is long-lasting and spreads throughout the body. It becomes the problem rather than the solution to infection or injury. It can lead to more serious conditions such as heart disease or even cancer.
In contrast, acute inflammation is beneficial—provided that it is robust, short-lived, and site-specific. When a ligament or tendon is strained or torn, it triggers an influx of blood, fluids, and immune cells to the area.

“Swelling is the body’s innate wisdom to increase the surface area so that healing mediators can then come into that area,” Brandon LaGreca, a licensed acupuncturist who is nationally certified in Oriental medicine, told The Epoch Times.

Neutrophils are part of these first responders. Their presence is key to removing damage and debris through lymphatic drainage, setting the stage for damaged tissue to be repaired.

Pain and swelling are a clear message that the “paramedics” are at work. Decreasing pain without shutting down the “highway” is critical for supporting the healing process.

“If you’re injured, one Advil for discomfort or to get sleep is different than taking 800 milligrams of Advil three times a day for three weeks,” Mr. Aiello said. “That’s when you’re likely to have a problem.”

Mr. Mogil said, “There are ways to block pain without blocking inflammation, and the most well-known of those is Tylenol.”

But the overuse of Tylenol, or acetaminophen, comes with risks such as liver injury.

Reconsidering the Standard Treatment for Acute Pain

Based on their initial study, Mr. Mogil and the other researchers hypothesized that inhibiting the body’s initial inflammatory response leads to chronic pain. They expanded on the research with a study in which mice with an injured paw were given either an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drug or saline.

Although the mice in the drug group initially showed fewer pain symptoms because their inflammation response was dulled, the pain eventually returned and became chronic. For mice that received saline, the pain subsided in half that time, and they remained pain-free.

To see if their hypothesis might apply to humans, the researchers did a separate analysis of patients in the UK. Those with acute back pain who reported taking anti-inflammatories were about 70 percent more likely to have pain two to six years later, an effect not seen in people taking acetaminophen or antidepressants.

While the researchers linked blocking early-stage inflammation to the development of chronic pain, decades of medical orthodoxy will not be overturned by a single study. Clinical trials are needed for that, but the funding for them has proven difficult.

Mr. Mogil noted that the findings shouldn’t be confused with the use of NSAIDs for chronic conditions, where reducing inflammation is essential.

Working With the Body’s Natural Inflammatory Response

How can you enhance the body’s natural healing process, ensuring a full recovery? Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has used multiple methods to treat acute injuries for thousands of years.

TCM focuses on stimulating circulation to the area of injury, restoring movement and function, and enhancing the body’s natural healing process, according to Mr. LaGreca.

“We encourage the healing process so that inflammation resolves on its own, as opposed to suppressing it,” he said.

A combination of approaches that use TCM principles to work with—not against—acute inflammation can be used.

Practice Gentle Movement

Pain, heat, redness, and swelling can last for one to three days following an injury. While rest is important, too much weakens the body, delaying healing. Rest should be balanced with gentle movement within pain tolerance.

“It’s injury dependent, but you can cautiously explore range of motion, stretching, and movement immediately,” Mr. Aiello said.

Gentle range-of-motion movements, including walking and slowly rotating the joints, help to maintain the health of ligaments and tendons by preventing stiffness and promoting circulation. This also helps to move fluid through the lymphatic system.

“For example, with an ankle injury, you may not want to walk on it with a lot of pressure,” Mr. LaGreca said, “but you can start with gentle ankle rotations.”

As pain and swelling decrease, careful movement can increase until there is a regular exercise routine.

“Putting a small amount of load on the ligament helps new tissue grow back in the right way,” Mr. Aiello said.

Ideally, this is done with a physical therapist or sports trainer.

Studies have shown that exercise and other physical therapies are effective for people with musculoskeletal pain, such as lower back pain.

Try Drug-Free Remedies

Nutrition can help to provide relief from acute pain.

“Your immune response needs fuel from nutrients and lots of antioxidants because the key to overcoming the pain is for neutrophils to help clear the damaged tissues,” Mr. Aiello said. “That debris is what’s eliciting the pain.”

Ginger, turmeric, capsaicin, and valerian root have all been shown to be effective natural pain relievers.
Many Chinese herbs can also be applied topically to help with pain, according to Mr. LaGreca. Acupuncture or acupressure on specific points is one of the most direct methods for immediate pain relief that also promotes circulation, increasing lymphatic drainage.
Multiple studies have shown that acupuncture effectively treats sports injuries such as strains, sprains, and swollen muscles. One randomized controlled trial published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine demonstrated that acupuncture is more effective, faster in relieving pain, and has fewer adverse effects than intravenous morphine.

Studies on acupressure have shown that applying pressure to stimulate specific points can also reduce acute pain. Acupressure is easily self-administered.

Opt for Heat Over Ice

From the TCM perspective, heat increases circulation. Mr. LaGreca recommended a warm bath with Epsom salts “to stimulate circulation and help the process along.”

Cold does the opposite, slowing down movement and impairing the circulation of blood and fluids, he said.

“Ice might make you feel better by reducing swelling, but that swelling is there for a reason,” Mr. LaGreca said.

Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who introduced R.I.C.E.—rest, ice, compression, elevation—to the sports medicine world in 1978, revised his recommendation in 2015.

“Both ice and complete rest may delay healing, instead of helping,” he wrote.

Get Deep Sleep

While resting for hours on end isn’t recommended, deep sleep is crucial for injury recovery.

When the body enters its deep sleep stage, the pituitary gland releases growth hormones that stimulate muscle repair and growth. Growth hormones must be released in greater amounts when the body is healing from an injury.

Healing takes time and requires trust in the body’s natural process.

“We need to do things that encourage that healing process,” Mr. LaGreca said.

“Mr. Aiello said, “Inflammation isn’t always bad. Knowing how to use it to fully heal can prevent longer-term problems.”
